What is Remote Support

Remote support services combine modern technology and direct care to assist individuals with developmental disabilities. It utilizes modern technology to provide a less intrusive form of assistance. This allows individuals to receive 24/7 support while maintaining safety and independence.

What are the Benefits of Remote Support

Our supported living services provide training to support individuals with developmental disabilities so that they can live as independently as possible.

Individualized & Adaptable Solutions

RMS conducts initial and ongoing assessments for each individual and their team to create a customized Remote Support plan. This ensures that our services are responsive to each individual’s specific needs.

Independence, Safety & Dignity

We recognize the very personal nature of our support services. Our support system and procedures emphasize and protect each individual’s autonomy, privacy and safety.

Support that Goes Beyond Monitoring

Our Remote Support Professionals are NOT call-center employees. They are DODD certified DSPs who are trained on each ISP. They become a familiar face for your loved one, and are available to assist in anyway needed.

Remote Support FAQs:

How do I know if my loved one is safe?

Safety is our number one priority, and the reason our services are in place. During the assessment period, we will determine all of the ways that the individual may require support, and build our technology and operations plans around these needs.

We are able to solve many health and safety concerns, ranging from medical to behavioral, and from cooking to visitor safety.

What happens if there is an emergency?

In the case of an emergency we quickly assess the situation, and make contact with the backup provider and emergency services.

The backup provider can quickly arrive to the location while the Remote Support Professional remains in contact to observe and support the individual.

The Operations Plan for each individual will guide the RSP to determine specific steps to be taken in each potential situation, based on that individual’s needs.

Will there be cameras watching at all times? What about bathroom and bedroom privacy?

We use a variety of devices to ensure privacy is protected. We never place cameras in bedrooms or bathrooms, and use motion sensors when possible to alert our Remote Support Professional to check in.

All devices are only active during approved hours, and cameras are used only according to an operations plan developed for each individual based on their Individual Service Plan and team input.
