RMS events

At RMS, every season brings new opportunities to connect, grow and celebrate the people and communities we serve. Over the past few months, our teams across Ohio have been active in community events, expanding services while highlighting how technology and compassionate care can transform lives.

Connecting with the Community at the Hamilton County Provider Fair

In July, RMS attended the Hamilton County Provider Fair in Cincinnati, OH. The event brought together organizations and professionals dedicated to supporting individuals with developmental disabilities.

We were proud to share information about Remote Support Services, Adult Day Services and other programs that empower people to live more independently. Events like this allow RMS to build relationships, exchange ideas and learn more about the innovative supportive services that are available across Ohio.

New Opportunities ADS has a New Location in Ottawa

August marked an exciting milestone for RMS of Ohio. New Opportunities Adult Day Services had a grand opening of their new Ottawa, Putnam County location! Their previous location was also located in Ottawa, but their team celebrated the launch of a beautiful new 3,500-square-foot suite at the Annandale Complex on N. Perry Street, where we now offer Adult Day Services in a bright, welcoming environment with outdoor green space.

At RMS, our Adult Day programs focus on building life skills, fostering friendships, and encouraging community engagement. This move reflects our commitment to creating safe, inclusive, and enriching spaces for individuals with developmental and physical disabilities to thrive.

Celebrations, Community and Connection

Pioneer Days Parade – Kalida, OH

Early September brought smiles, laughter, and community spirit as our New Opportunities Adult Day Program participated in the Pioneer Days Parade in Kalida, Putnam County, OH.

A heartfelt thank-you goes to George, Kathy and Jani Schramm for donating and decorating our float! Our participants had a wonderful time waving to familiar faces, tossing candy, and sharing joy with the community.

RMS of Ohio has proudly participated in this beloved parade for many years, and each time we’re reminded of how special it is to be part of a community that celebrates inclusion and connection. We are so grateful for everyone who came out to support us—it truly made the day extra special!

Over the years, RMS has participated in this parade and had a wonderful time.

RMS Launches New Remote Support Video

Our company is thrilled to debut our new Remote Support Services video. The video highlights how technology and compassionate support can work hand-in-hand to help individuals live independently and safely at home.

At RMS, Remote Support is more than an alarm system — it’s about creating real connections, providing peace of mind and respecting privacy.

  • Our Remote Support Professionals (RSPs) are highly trained DSPs, not call center operators.
  • Our RSPs know each individual’s Individualized Service Plan (ISP) and are certified to pass medications and help with assistive technology.
  • Our company respects people’s privacy, but still has the ability to deliver safe and compassionate services.

A common misconception is that remote support means less privacy. At RMS, the opposite is true. We do not place cameras in private spaces such as bedrooms or bathrooms. In these areas, if needed, we use discreet sensors when necessary.

For example, these sensors might be required by an individual’s ISP in order to detect a fall risk. In other situations, these types of devices are required to ensure safety in a specific area of the home. This balance of technology, respect, and compassion is what makes RMS’s approach to Remote Support truly unique.

Volunteering at a Local Food Pantry – Cincinnati, OH

This September, participants from our RMS Inc Adult Day Support program in Cincinnati gave back to their community by volunteering at a local food pantry. Volunteering helps individuals with developmental disabilities build social connections, strengthen independence, and develop confidence. It’s also a way for our individuals to give back and foster empathy, purpose and belonging.

By volunteering side-by-side with others, our participants help break down stereotypes and show that everyone has something valuable to contribute.

Franklin County Provider and Community Resource Fair

Later in September, RMS participated in the Franklin County DD Provider and Community Resource Fair at the Ohio Expo Center’s Kasich Hall. This event was a fantastic opportunity to connect with families, caregivers, and professionals across Central Ohio.

At our booth, visitors could:

  • Learn about how Remote Support works
  • See real-time demonstrations of our technology
  • Meet our friendly staff and ask questions about services

We’re proud to continue showing families how RMS’s person-centered approach and technology-driven solutions can enhance independence and safety in the home.

Looking Ahead

From provider fairs and grand openings to parades and volunteerism, RMS of Ohio remains dedicated to supporting individuals through innovation, compassion, and community engagement.

We are grateful to everyone who has joined us along the way. Whether it is families, individuals, community partners or staff; these moments are meaningful.
